The Society of Our Lady of Walsingham

The Society exists to encourage devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham and pilgrimage to her shrine.

It was during the summer of 1987 that Father John Ross, the then Rector of St Margaret's, led the first parish pilgrimage to the shrine at Walsingham. As a result of this first visit it was decided that a Cell should be established here at St. Margaret's and that a statue of Our Lady ofWalsingham be placed in the church.

At present local members of the Society endeavour to meet on the first Monday of each month when a Mass in honour of Our Lady is celebrated or Vespers of Our Lady are said.
